Governor-Elect: Otuaro, Ogomudia, Omu pays congratulatory visit, eulogies Oborevwori…Says the future of Delta is in safe hands.By Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq

Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro Esq, former Chief of Defence Staff, General Alexander Ogomudia, Retired, and former federal lawmaker, Senator Stella Omu, were among the dignitaries that paid congratulatory visit to Delta State Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, at his official residence in Asaba.

Otuaro who was accompanied by executive members of the famous KBO Political family, said the entire state, especially members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are still engulfed in superlative celebration over the well deserved victory of the party at the polls.

He noted that the Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, has the required visionary leadership qualities; humility, integrity and competence to pilot the affairs of the state after the terminal date of Okowa administration, because of his privileged position as a system player and head of the legislative arm of government, who worked very closely with the incumbent governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON.

In the same vein, General Alexander Ogomudia noted that Oborevwori’s victory attested to the fact that God had ordained him to govern the state at this time, looking back to the numerous legal battles he fought after the party primaries but came out victorious.

Ogomudia urged the Governor-Elect, Sheriff Oborevwori, to embrace his traducers as required of a consummate leader and be a father to all Deltans.

One of the formost leaders of PDP in the state, Senator Stella Omu, commended the Governor-Elect for his maturity, wisdom and excellent leadership charisma which he exhibited throughout his ordeal during post party primary, adding that the time is ripe for Sheriff Oborevwori and leaders of the party to come together to heal wounds and join hands to move the state forward.

Senator Omu and General General Ogomudia charged the Governor-Elect to remain focused and be magnanimous in victory, reach out to all aggrieved party members and stakeholders as required of a detribalized Pan Delta leader.

Speaking further on Thursday, Delta Deputy Governor, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro expressed confidence that Oborevwori shall do well as governor for all Deltans, judging from his large heart, detribalized nature, uncommon humility, respect for constituted authorities, unblemished integrity and honesty, adding that the KBO Political family is very happy that he made it at the polls.

“We are here to Congratulate you and to also congratulate ourselves and the entire PDP family in Delta State. I am here with members of the KBO family to Congratulate us for a job well done.

“We have been conducting elections in this state since 1999, and suffice to say, this is one phenomenal election, very interesting, very challenging. We give glory to God that we are here strong, hale, hearty and sound, celebrating ourselves.

“We are truly happy for what God has done for us. Your administration will be an extension of the legacies of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, and as you know, I worked closely with him. I had the opportunity of presiding over the last executive council meeting and I reminded Exco members where we were coming from in 2015.

“We came into governance at a time it was truly challenging and you are an integral part of this government, we know where we are coming from, we know where we are and we know where we are going.

“Delta shall be safe and sound in your tenure as Governor. I trust your integrity and competence. You will do more for Deltans.

By God’s grace you have the heart that is large enough to continue with the legacies that hold dear to our hearts, that is what we need in governance, a man that is accessible, a man that has a large heart, a man that is able to see beyond, not a man that claim he knows it all”.

“I know you will do better because you have lived your life for your people and for Deltans in general. We are truly happy and proud that we did what we did to have you as our next leader and governor, and today we are here to celebrate with you.

“We are here to congratulate and celebrate you, and to congratulate us all. God will grant you good health, wisdom and long life to govern the state from May 29, 2023 and beyond,” Otuaro said.

Responding, the State Governor-Elect and Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Deputy Governor and his KBO family for the visit.

“I am very happy receiving our dear Deputy Governor. I am happy because he is a very loyal and committed leader, in all that happened, he never changed. What I love in you is the loyalty to our Governor and his leadership, and for believing in our great party, PDP.

“I will consolidate on all the gains of Okowa administration and there is no way I will abandon any project. All the uncompleted projects must be completed before awarding new ones. I believe strongly that government must be a continuous process.

“I will be Governor for all Deltans. I want to assure you that this government is our government and your government, a government for the good people of Delta State.

“I will run a government of inclusiveness. This visit is so dear to me. You worked so hard for our victory, and I will pay you a thank you visit soon”, Oborevwori said.

Governor-Elect, Oborevwori has continue to receive visitors in droves as a result of his landslide victory. He polled 360, 234 votes to relegate the candidate of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege to second position.

Senator Agege polled 240, 229 votes winning four local government areas out of the twenty five LGAs, losing twenty one LGAs to the Governor-Elect and incoming governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, JP.

STILL ON ISIOKOLO PAYS HOMAGE TO OGURIMERIME.

By

Dr. Emmanuel TONUKARI emmatonukari@gmail.com

If you were passing through Isiokolo on the 22nd of January, 2023, you would think there was a festival holding in Isiokolo town because of the ambiance of the town. Everyone, old and young, was gorgeously dressed, with chiefs walking majestically in their full regalia displaying their beads and adjudju which seldom contain their titles. They were all moving towards one direction – the ultra modern royal palace. It was indeed a psudo-feast brought to be by the indigenes of Isiokolo who, in their wisdom, took that day off to pay homage to their king, His Royal Majesty, Ogurimerime, Ukori the 1st . The occasion was an outright counter to the popular saying in some quarters that monarchs in the Niger-Delta Region are not well taken care of by their subjects. The people of Isiokolo chose to do the needful by organizing their people, the children of Akpata and pay homage to the number one citizen of Agbon Kingdom. This goodwill by the people is interpreted in different ways. Many of them are of the opinion that, if they could, on yearly basis, go to churches to support others in their annual thanksgiving, why can’t they do same by paying homage to their king officially, at least, once a year. This exercise would be the first of its kind in Agbon Kingdom where they have been having a steady positive rise in socio-cultural activities of the kingdom since the installation of His Royal Majesty, Ogurimerime, Ukori the 1st. Recall that one of the conspicuous landmarks of his reign is the mobilization and building of the ultra modern palace in Isiokolo, the ancestral home of the Agbon people. It is a great delight for the Agbon people both at home and in the Diaspora but it is unspeakable joy and untold enchantment for the Isiokolo people who have the great opportunity and privilege of living side by side with the king in Isiokolo. It is on this ground that the six mega families of Isiokolo: Erua r’Ekrurughwujabor, Eteh, Agobe, Eboh, Oviri and Ewhweri together with their sons and daughters led by the Okpako r’Orho of Isiokolo, Chief Ohwonigho Umukoro and the Prime Minister of Isiokolo, Chief John Ejitobor (JP) decided to pay homage to the king. In the entourage, there were other prominent members of the Isiokolo community who are custodians of the ancestral home, guardians of the palace like Prof. Emeritus Chief Andrew Onokerhoraye, Chief Broderick Arigbodi, High Chief (Barr) Christopher Egbonoje, Prof. Chief Nyerhovwo Tonukari, Chief Dr. (Mrs) Philomena Imonivwerha, Chief Ejuvwekpokpo Ighorodi to mention but just a few. We also have prominent dignitaries like Prof. William Akpochafo, Dr. Godwin Onanovwe, Mr. Vincent Omojiriemu Ideh, Mr. Ovie Akpobaro, Mr. royal Ugherughe, etc.

There were people from Onakpoma family, Eyeh family, Imialana family, Owhofariere family representing Orua Ekrurughwujabor; members of Ideh family, Tonukari family, Obanovwe family, owhonigho family, Ojaruowho family representing Orua r’Eteh; members of Arigbodi family, Orhokoruere family, onoh family Owhofadjeke family representing orua r’Agobe; members of Egbonoje family, Akpobaro family Onyokoko family representing the orua r’Eboh; members of Egodotaire family, Umukoro family, Ukudjayuvweri family representing the orua r’Oviri and members of Akpochafo family, Ohwovorione family, Ugherughe family, Ibihwiori family, Okpe family representing orua r’Ewhweri. It is obvious that we cannot categorically mention all the members of the families representing the different mega families.

Everyone came with a magnificent gift for the king. This is because, the average Urhobo person knows that, you give to King what befits a king and not necessarily what you have. So in the thanksgiving bowl there were exquisite drinks, the best you can think of and some exclusive gift items and cash gifts were all packaged into the royal basket of the king. There were wonderful cultural rendition exalting the position and importance of the throne. Everyone danced to the rhythm with the king blessing everyone who made it to the palace and who sent in their gifts.

This well planned visit to the Monarch came as a big surprise to the King who really appreciated the efforts of the Isiokolo people. He was overwhelmed and as a show of appreciation he announced five chieftaincy titles for Isiokolo ehovworens. What this simply means is that, five non palace chiefs, would be upgraded to Palace chiefs which is one of the highest honours one could get in Agbon kingdom. It is a big gain and achievement for Isiokolo people.

It has been echoed by Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari to all sons and daughters of Agbon and other Urhobo people both at home and abroad in many fora to take good care of their Monarch. All socio-cultural clubs should, as a matter of policy, pay homage to their king at least once a year. This can also be done on a personal level. The display of the Isiokolo people has set the pace for others to follow in Agbon kingdom and other neighboring kingdoms.

2023: Agege’s laughable, Inconsequential debate proposal.

By Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq

pdpcmcmedia

Wonders shall never end. Imagine Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, calling for a debate with the excessive local content Delta incoming governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. Is this for real?

Why the debate? Is it to discuss NASS stolen mace or to explain APC N77 trillion debt for Nigeria or the dilapidated federal roads in Delta State?

Is it that Agege want to explain why all the six federal projects including the Law School and a Polytechnic were arrogantly and selfishly taken to his village in Orogun and thereby shortchanged the entire eight local governments of Delta Central Senatorial District that voted for him to become a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria?

What’s the issue Senator Agege want to debate about? Maybe he want to tell Deltans why Nigeria is now the poverty capital of the world under APC national government or to explain to us why the rejected APC Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket will sink his party at the polls on February 25.

PDP governorship candidate, Oborevwori, is too busy explaining his robust manifesto and therefore will not engage the rejected governorship candidate of APC in any form of debate. Oborevwori will continue to focus on regular interface with Deltans in the state to explain his M.O.R.E agenda to the people, not to participate in any kangaroo, stage managed debate.

PDP community to community and unit to unit campaigns ongoing across the three senstorial districts, touching on what Deltans should expect in all sectors from May 29, this year, as encapsulated in the M.O.R.E agenda anchored on a responsive, all inclusive and transparent Oborevwori administration.

The rain of endorsements for Oborevwori attest to the fact that Deltans and eligible voters clearly aligned with the M.O.R.E agenda to advance Delta during his tenure from 2023 to 2031.

As a matter of fact, it will be a political sacrilege for our highly respected excessive local content governorship candidate of the PDP to stand on the same podium with a mace runner and a man of low esteem like Senator Augustine Ovie Omo-Agege to debate or speak on any issue. Never!

In Ndokwa East, which is the political base of Agege’s running mate, Mr Friday Osanebi, the PDP governorship candidate reigns supreme politically in that local government.

APC was recently amputated in Ndokwa East as the entire party exco defected to PDP because of the wide spread popularity of Oborevwori across Delta State. What then does Agege want to bring to the debate? Your answer is as good as mine!

It’s obvious that Agege is trying to cover his poorly attended campaigns by calling for manipulated debates. He should engage eligible voters rather than clamour for laughable debates.

Agege is only in the Governorship race to earn the title of a “former governorship candidate” and nothing more. It’s obvious judging from his campaign of name-calling and character assassination, not issue based campaign. Oborevwori will surely defeat him with a wide margin on March 11, no doubt about that.

Oborevwori political accomplishments is way ahead of Agege’s propaganda and laughable antics. He shall remain focused on engaging the People and explaining his M.O.R.E agenda, not any debate instigated and bankrolled by an unscrupulous mace runner alleged to be the most corrupt SSG since the creation of Delta State.

Come March 11, APC and Agege shall suffer a humiliating defeat at the polls and subsequently retired from active politics in Delta State. Time shall tell.

2023: Delta socioeconomic development, priority under Oborevwori – Oghenesivbe

…Says no political oxygen for opposition parties, candidates.

Overall Development of Delta State will be the prime focus of the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, if voted into power on March 11, this year.

Campaign spokesperson, Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, gave the assurance on Monday while speaking as a guest of Quest Radio and Television in Ughelli, Delta Central Senatorial District, saying that Oborevwori is the only governorship candidate with the required experience, competence and political willpower to govern a multiethnic state like Delta.

He noted that PDP developed the state from scratch to her present enviable status through the efforts of past governors and the incumbent, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, adding that other political parties are aliens in the socioeconomic and political affairs of the state.

Oghenesivbe who is the Assistant Deputy Director, Media and Publicity of Delta PDP Campaign Council, further asserted that the M.O.R.E agenda of the incoming governor, Oborevwori, is such that will advance Delta State from where Okowa administration will stop in May 29, with priority attention on the productive sectors, especially in the area of public-private partnership to accelerate industralization, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Agricultural sector reforms, human capital development to enhance sustainable economic growth.

He said Delta under the incumbent governor and Vice Presidential Candidate of PDP, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has been rated by national and multinational agencies as one of the best states in Nigeria, and second to none in poverty reduction through multifaceted entrepreneural skills acquisition and human capacity development which Oborevwori administration will sustain and improve upon to take out thousands of employable and unskilled job seekers from the labour market.

And on why PDP camapigns have been very peaceful despite the unprecedented mammoth crowd following, Oghenesivbe, a Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management, Dfcism, revealed that the low level of poverty in Delta, rated as the second least poor state in Nigeria, as well as the good governance strides of governor Okowa, is largely responsible for the conducive environment for a peaceful and robust campaigns.

Another salient reason Oghenesivbe gave for peaceful and successful campaigns in Delta is the enviable personality, competence, integrity and humility of the governorship candidate, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, noting that he is greatly loved as a unifier, a philanthropist, a visionary leader and a Pan Deltan, who has been a key player in the affairs of Delta State since he became Speaker of the State House of Assembly in nearly six years and counting.

“Our party’s candidate, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is doing fantastically well in his campaign as can be seen from the Mammoth crowd in all our rallies. He is the real deal in the governorship election.

“Deltans have adopted his M.O.R.E agenda and the political drum beats transcends the three senstorial districts, to the extent that the candidates of opposition parties are crashing out and gasping for political oxygen.

“PDP and Oborevwori will continue to ensure that no oxygen is available for opposition parties and their candidates to survive at the polls on February 25 and March 11, this year,” Oghenesivbe assured.

2023: Oborevwori will further my administration’s performance, says Okowa

The Governor of Delta and Vice Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has assured people of the state that the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, would take his administration’s performance further, if elected.

He said that Oborevwori had learnt a lot as the longest serving Speaker of the State House of Assembly and would continue with ongoing projects and programmes of his administration.

Okowa gave the assurance on Tuesday at Obiaruku during the party’s campaigns at Ukwuani and Ethiope East Local Government Areas.

According to him, I have known Oborevwori for many years now and he has been Speaker of the House of Assembly for six years and as the longest serving speaker, he has understudied our programmes and policies.

“He has learnt a lot and has assured that he would be fair to all parts of Delta and ensure that no ongoing project is abandoned in any part of the state.

“Aside ongoing projects, he will also ensure continuation of our youths and women empowerment programmes,” he said.

The vice-presidential candidate said that ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government had spoilt the country in all economic indices, but assured that the PDP Atiku-Okowa manifesto would unite the country to fight insecurity “because there is strength in unity”.

He said that a PDP administration would be willing to assist states to set up their own police systems to compliment the federal police and other security agencies in fighting insecurity across the country.

“They have killed our economy such that they have borrowed over N100 trillion but we will recover and rebuild our country because we did it before in 1999.

“All our federal roads in the state are impassable; twice I wanted to intervene for the Sapele-Agbor road and they stopped us because it’s a federal road.

“But thank God that I am going to Abuja and we will ensure that all federal roads are attended to.

“The APC also destroyed our education sector with the eight-month ASUU strike that kept our children at home for so long. But throughout the period of strike, all our universities in Delta were in session.

“They were in session because we have taken care of all they needed for the educational advancement of the state.

“So, for Delta to continue on the path of progress and development, let’s vote for all candidates of the PDP,” he said.

Immediate past Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, urged the people to vote all PDP candidates to enable Governor Okowa to become the Vice-President of the country.

He said a vote for the party would ensure proper allocation of oil resources produced from the state.

On his part, the governorship candidate, Chief Oborevwori, commended Okowa for the many projects in the area, including a Technical College at Obiaruku, ongoing construction of 27 kilometres of roads with over 70 per cent completed.

He added that no fewer than 400 indigenes of the area had benefited from the state’s empowerment programmes.

He promised that his administration would construct the Amai and Arhagba-Orogun roads, emphasizing that he would be equitable to all parts of Delta and would not abandon any ongoing project across the state.

Chairman of the party, Chief Kingsley Esiso, commended the leaders and party faithful for the massive turnout for the rally.

He said that APC had virtually destroyed the country and urged the people to chase them out of Aso Rock.

Director-General of the State Campaign Council, Chief Funkekeme Solomon, said that PDP was in Ukwuani to renew its mandate with the people to continue with its development of the state.

“We have come here to renew our mandate because you don’t change a winning team. PDP has been winning here since 1999 and the party has led well developing the state over time.

“As Deltans, the 2023 election is an opportunity for us to rise up irrespective of our party differences to vote for Atiku-Okowa ticket to enable our illustrious son become the next Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.

The campaign rallies witnessed massive defections from the APC and Labour Party, with former LP Delta North Senatorial candidate, Ebuwa Kelvin and Chief Alex Imarah among the defectors.

2023: Ethiope East PDP assures Landslide victory for all candidates.

Spokesperson of Delta State Campaign Council Management Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Fred Oghenesivbe has assured that the party will defeat opposition parties in the Local Government Area despite recent defection by a former member of the State House of Assembly and the immediate past Chairman of the Local Government Council.

He gave the assurance in a statement on Friday, saying that the Campaign coordinator of PDP in Ethiope East and former member of House of Representatives, Sunny Emeyese, as well as the State Commissioner for Primary Education, Sunday Onoriode, party leaders and members of the LGA Campaign Council are working very hard to ensure that all candidates of the party are victorious in the forthcoming general elections.

Oghenesivbe who is also the Deputy Coordinator, Media and Publicity of Ethiope East LGA Campaign Council, said the M.O.RE agenda of the incoming governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has been adopted by all Deltans, noting that Ethiope East will deliver all candidates of the party on the agreed five over five voting arrangement.

He appealed to party faithfuls and supporters to remain focused and committed to the ongoing Unit to unit mobilization of eligible voters along side LGA Campaigns to bring about the desired victories at the polls in February and March, this year, in Delta State.

…As Amori, Ighomena, Nani assures of block vote, landslide victory for all party candidates.

Vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has appealed to the good people of Ethiope West Local Government Area, to step up their voting performance by producing the highest votes in the forthcoming general elections in the state.

Okowa made the appeal on Thursday at Oghara Township Stadium during the LGA Campaign rally, saying that Ethiope West being the political base of the national leader and Odidigborigbo of the Universe, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, deserves number one position through bloc vote for PDP in this dispensation.

He said all the party’s candidates in Ethiope West are his family members one way or the other, because of his strong political affiliations and cordial relationships with Chief James Ibori, Senator Ighoyota Amori and other leaders, adding that the eldest daughter of the former governor who is the House of Representatives candidate for Ethiope Federal Constituency, Hon Mrs Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu remained his daughter, for life.

Governor Okowa, lamented the bad governance experienced since 2015 under President Mohmmadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and assured that his boss and principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and himself shall do the needful to revive and grow the nation’s economy, as well as unite Nigerians, end insecurity, restructure, reset and rebuild Nigeria, while the incoming governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori will advance Delta through his M.O.R.E Agenda; meaningful development, opportunity for all Deltans, realistic reforms and enhanced peace and security.

Responding, some major stakeholders of PDP in Ethiope West LGA assured the incoming Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, and the excessive local content governor in-waiting, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, of bloc vote for the party in the forthcoming general elections.

The leaders which includes; Delta Central Senatorial Candidate, Chief Ighoyota Amori, former Commissioner in the state, Chief Engr Emmanuel Ighomena and PDP Campaign Coordinator for Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief Barr John Nani.on Thursday in Oghara at the LGA campaign rally, said the numerous achievements of the state government under the visionary leadership of governor Okowa, informed their decision to once again give bloc vote to the party.

They referred to the numerous standard projects executed by Okowa administration in Ethiope West, as well as political appointments for sons and daughters of Urhobo nation in Delta Central Senatorial District and that also include Ethiope West LGA.

Chief Amori who until recently was the Chairman, Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency, noted that APC national government practically ruined the nation’s economy built by PDP, but assured that the incoming national government of PDP will restore the image and dignity of Nigeria which APC dragged to pitiable disrepute in just seven years and counting.

The incoming Senator of Delta Central Senatorial District described the presidential candidate of PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Okowa, as round pega in round holes, eminently qualified, competent and result oriented, adding that the duo of the versatile incoming President and Vice Presidential of PDP extraction will surely reset and rebuild Nigeria, and also fulfil all electioneering promises as encapsulated in Atiku’s manifesto titled “My Covenant With Nigerians.”

Chief Nani on his part assured Okowa, Oborevwori and the party that Ethiope West will deliver on the agreed 5/5 voting pattern, saying that governor Okowa’s visionary leadership and enviable performance in office must be well appreciated by ensuring that PDP is victorious with a wide margin in the forthcoming general elections in the state and in Ethiope West LGA.

Nani who is also the Executive Director, Finance and administration of DESOPADEC, politically rocked the campaign venue with his teeming supporters, singing, dancing and waving sparkling white flags of the Nani Political family.
