To Hi-Chief Felix AnirahIt was a carnival in the City of Sapele on Saturday, 14th March, 2020, as Lawn Tennis players from Edo and Delta converged in Sapele Athletic Club to compete for titles in the 2020 edition of Hon. (Hi-Chief) Felix U. Anirah Lawn Tennis Championship.Sapele Athletic Club, Sapele; Government House Club, Asaba; Benin Club, Benin City; Warri Club, Warri; Benin Recreational Club, Benin; Ughelli Club, Ughelli; Shell Club, Ogunu; DSC Club, Alaja; Abraka Recreational Club, Abraka; Police Officers Mess, Benin, were the Clubs from Edo and Delta that participated in the Championship.*Men’s Category*1. Adegbola Bos, of Benin Recreational Club, emerged First and went home with Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000).2. Omozokpai Eloh, of Benin Recreational Club, came Second and went home with Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000)3. Peter Nosama, of Ughelli Club came Third and went home with Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000).*Women’s Category*1. Precious Aghwin, of Warri Club emerged First and went home with Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000)2. Sarah Gbadamusi, of Government House Club, Asaba emerged Second and went home with Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000)3. Perita Becca, of Ughelli Club came Third and went home with Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000).The Fourth position, Fifth position and others also went home with consolation prices for.The sponsor of the Championship, Hon. (Hi-Chief) Felix Uruemuesiri ANIRAH, promised that the First, Second and Third positions of the next edition will go home with Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000), Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000) and Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) respectively.Okakuro Felix Uruemuesiri ANIRAH, later organized a gala night for the entertainment of guests and Lawn Tennis players.In attendance were, Mr. James Aino, representing the Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission; Engr. Peter Aruoture, President Sapele Athletic Club; Okakuro Tom ANIRAH, the Oren of Okpe Kingdom and host of others.
